Consult

All clients receive a free, no pressure consultation. We can visit you at home or at work. We meet at your convenience to discuss your needs. Some people hire us because they have no idea of what vehicle to select or how much to spend. Others hire us because they know what they want, but can't find the "right" vehicle. Experience has proven that the price for a reliable used vehicle starts at about $7500. Below this price, chances are high you will have to deal with expensive mechanical problems in short order. It's true you get what you pay for.

Auto Finders is based in beautiful Victoria BC, Canada. Most of our clients live on Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands. We have happy clients from Australia to Switzerland and Alaska to Africa! If you are moving to our balmy island, we can have your car ready for you when you arrive. Ferry or airport shuttle is included.

What does it cost to hire us? $595
Once you agree to hire us to find your next quality used car, we require $250 to begin your search. This partial payment tells us you are now serious about buying a vehicle. It also helps to cover our gas and expenses while searching for your next car. The balance of $345 + GST is due when you take delivery of your vehicle.

If it is a new car or truck you seek, and you know exactly what model you want our fee is only $350 plus GST.

Research

Now Auto Finders goes to work. We discuss price range, models, safety ratings, gas mileage, options, performance and more. There are some great models to choose from, but there are vehicles to avoid as well. Together, we build your wish list.

For customers who are still uncertain what vehicle would be the best fit, we would be pleased to meet with you and arrange a field trip. This is a great way for clients to sit in several vehicles to see which one best suits your needs. An Auto Finders consultant will stay with you at all times so you can feel relaxed while you evaluate vehicles on your own terms. This step of the process makes it very clear to us what vehicle to start searching for.

Locate
This is the most difficult part of our job. If it was easy to find low-kilometre, rust-free Hondas and Toyotas, there would be no reason for Auto Finders to be in business. This is where our extensive car shopping network comes into play. As you have probably discovered, the “really nice” cars sell within hours of coming onto the market.
Evaluate
We see hundreds of vehicles per week. When shopping for our clients we search for the needle in the haystack. Once we find a vehicle that we approve of, we test drive it. If everything is in order, we check the vehicle's service and accident history. If we still like what we see, we escort you on your test drive and answer any questions you may have. If you are not satisfied, we'll resume the search.
Inspect
Once you approve of the vehicle we have selected, Auto Finders helps arrange an independent mechanical inspection. Often Auto Finders can convince the vendor to cover the cost. Otherwise you pay for the inspection (approx. $100), but be assured it can prevent major headaches. We'll be with you to translate the inspection report. If it turns out a few minor repairs are necessary, we can usually negotiate them into the deal. If the vehicle needs too much work, we walk away and continue the search. For out-of-town clients we can arrange an inspection with your permission and fax you the results.
Negotiate
Many people feel uneasy when talking about money with strangers. Auto Finders enters the negotiating arena daily, and we excel at it. We will secure the fairest price on your behalf. In our first meeting, we established your budget comfort zone, so there should be no surprises here. Average savings range between $1,100 and $1,600…sometimes more.
Purchase
Finally, Auto Finders is with you when you take delivery of your new vehicle. Together we check that your car has been prepared as promised, so you can purchase with confidence.
