CAR AND TRUCK RECALLS…NOTHING NEW!

In early February we were alerted to some massive recalls from Toyota, soon followed by a major recall from Honda. As a buyer, your first reaction may have been fear that you had purchased the wrong vehicle.

In the run of a year, I drive and evaluate many vehicles for Auto Finders clients. Out of all the brands of vehicles that I evaluate, there has never been a manufacturer that has been devoid of recalls. To say it a different way, all manufacturers have recalls and service bulletins.

Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan are still at the top of my list in regard to reliability, safety and resale value. The recalls will be dealt with in due time and the next generation of vehicles will be even better.

Honda and Toyota have deep pockets and the recalls will cost them. But at least they can straighten this out on their own--without begging for government bailout money.
